Traveling from his personal studio in Libreville, Gabon to Opus Studios in Fatouville-Grestain Normandy, France, by way of the Salle Colonne in Paris and Air Studios in London, Frédéric Gassita takes us on an authentic journey to the heart of the music that inspires the Gabonese composer and pianist.
On Gassita’s newly released album My Experience, a host of special guests contributed to the album, creating a unique blend of colour, rhythm and tune. ; in addition to the usual rhythm section that features bassist Guy N’Sangué and drummer Patrick Goraguer, the Brazilian flair of certain tracks is added by guitar virtuoso Alessandro Penezzi and the smooth voice of Giana Viscardi. The magic voice of Sokey takes us to the US before traveling back to Africa on the distinct vocal tones of Melina Ondjani.
Finally, Gassita’s touch reveals itself in sumptuous orchestral arrangements conducted by Paul Rouger who is joined in the final track by the London Symphony Orchestra, adding a richness and presence to the subtle melodies that were composed with Gassita’s long-time collaborator, Mr. Ali Bongo Ondimba

M'Balancé

A few weeks before the release of his most anticipated new album, My Experience, the pianist and composer from Gabon, Frederic Gassita, introduces M'Balancé, his first single. This song was recorded with fellow singer Sokey and her smooth voice matches perfectly with the elegant style of the piano virtuoso. A stunning video filmed near Libreville and directed by Fabass Konexion, has been released to promote this amazing musical dialogue.
